Quality of secondary education: A field study on a sample of secondary school teachers in the city of Misrata

Abstract

This research aims to identify education quality in secondary schools through measuring six criteria of education quality, namely: leadership and school management, teachers, Curriculum and Teaching Methods, Student Performance Evaluation, Facilities and Support Resources, Educational Management. To achieve these goals, a quantitative approach was adopted based on a descriptive Analysis by collecting quantitative data and designing a questionnaire. The research sample was (272) teacher in secondary schools in the city of Misurata out of a total size of population of (930) teacher. Results concluded that teachers’ points of view of the education quality is average, as all the six quality standards revolved around the average value of (3). Finally, results showed that there are differences in teachers’ viewpoints about levels of quality standards, as their opinions reinforced that the strongest standards of quality education are: teachers standard, leadership and school management standard, student performance evaluation standard, curriculum and teaching methods standard were average.
