Abstract

The aim of study was to identify the reality status of using the internet for scientific research among economic faculties of Libyan universities. To realize study's aim, a questionnaire was developed from related literature, after testing its validity and reliability. The study was carried out on a sample consisting of 50 teacher stuff member in commerce and economic faculty at Al-Mergheb University. The main results of study were: - The majority of teacher stuff members are using the internet for education and scientific research and they consider the internet as very important tool for scientific research. - Teacher stuff members are using the internet for scientific research from 5 hours to 10 hours weekly. - The looking for references and scientific journals were the main motivations for using the internet for scientific research. - the main benefits of using the internet for scientific research are obtaining previous researches and studies and reading scientific books and journals. - The most significant difficulties in using the internet for scientific research are slowness and cut the internet communication, and shortage the internet network and difficulty for obtaining it. - The subjects introduced several proposals for improving the usage of internet for scientific research. These proposals are presenting the internet network in faculty and conducting training rounds for teacher stuff in using computer and internet.
