Abstract

The study aims to identify marketing constraints faced by grape producers in Murzuq, South Libya. The study relied on field data from grape producers in the study sample. A descriptive and quantitative analysis, means, standard deviation and (T) test were used to meet the objectives of the study. The results found that producers of grape in Murzuq are faced with a wide range of constraints including transportation, storage, pricing and constraints associated with the various channels of marketing. The issues of transportation is based on the distance from production sites to consumption sites, while poor storage facilities led to rapid crop damage and pricing is triggered by oversupply in local markets Based on the findings, the study recommend that the Libyan Agricultural Ministry should focus on improving transportation systems, providing refrigerated warehouses for storage of grapes, supporting producers to purchase surplus grapes production by the government and establishment of grape factories in the study region.
