Islamophobia: The dialectics of religion and politics in American society

Abstract

This paper has dealt with the dialectic relation between religion and politics in the American Community with special focus on Phenomena of phobia from Islam which is commonly called as (Islamophobia). This terminology has become familiar in an intensive & remarkable manner within the political and Media sectors after the events of 11th September 2001 in the western communities , and in particular , the American community. This paper has set out its objectives in defining the Islamophobia concept and the follow- up of emergence and development. As well as the presentation of the dialect relating to the religious and political aspects of this concept in the western political thought and the development of the same. And consequently the analysis of the impact of 11th September events in establishing the concept of Islamophobia and politically exploit that concept domestically in America through linking between the two terms. (Terrophobia & Islamophobia) within the context of war against terrorism. The paper has reached to several results , such as:- The Islamophobia phenomena in the west is not new but renewable. The Islamophobia concept has witnessed quantum transformation in the intensity of use in the western world after 11th September 2001 As well as , the Islamophobia phenomena has witnessed a significant shift inside America , which is represented in the material , moral and institutional transformation nature after the attacks of 11th September 2001 that targeted the United States of America and its economic and military character. The Islamophobia impact in the American community was of extreme effect , and extensive sectors of the American community have become more satisfied and influenced by the speech addressing Islamophobia , which indicates that the negative viewpoint on Islam has remarkably increased.
