The importance of the manufacturing sector in Libya

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the emergence of the Libyan manufacturing sector and its economic plans during the period (1995-2010). Descriptive and analytical approach was used to reach some main results showed the absent of development plans in Libya contributed to the failure to have a clear status of the needs of strategic industries. In addition to the decline of investment spending during the years of the study، and the performance weakness by the Libyan government policy، that caused in failure of the manufacturing sector، and low contribution of the private sector for investing in manufacturing sector، which was had a negative impact on development.
