The impact of shortcomings in administrative and financial research on the evaluation result

A field study on research paper evaluators from faculty members at Libyan universities

Abstract

Researchers fear of rejecting their papers submitted for publication in conferences and scientific Journals is one of the most prominent obstacles to scientific research in the administrative and financial sciences in the Libyan environment. This stems from the fear of the high percentage of rejected research papers from the reality of statistics in conferences and scientific fields in the Libyan environment. The increase in this percentage is largely due to a lack of scientific and technical aspects in the preparation of these papers. Accordingly, this study aimed to identify the deficiencies and their frequency in the research papers presented by researchers in the Libyan environment for the purpose of promotion. Or for the purpose of participating in a local conference it also aimed to identify the impact of each of the shortcomings in the research papers to reject the paper (whether to refuse to publish or promote or to participate in conference). In order to achieve the objective of the study, the questionnaire was relied upon as the main management of all data. The study population consisted of a resident of the research papers from the faculty members in its educational institutions in Libya with administrative and financial specialization, the questionnaire was designed in electronic form and distributed to a sample of study population, and after the passage of sufficient time was the number (78) questionnaire was excluded (15) because they are incorrect for analysis. After analyzing the data and testing the hypotheses, the study reached several results while the results pointed to the lack of substantial impact of the shortcomings in writing, coordination and documentation of references to be the result of the evaluation of the paper rejected, and the study recommended the need to update the teaching methods and curricula of research methods in the faculties of economics at the Libyan universities at undergraduate level.
