Evaluating the reality of organizational culture in the administration of Misurata University and the extent of its implications in building an effective organization

This study aimed to identify the reality of organizational culture and the extent of its implications in building an effective organization, by studying its main dimensions consisting of (the organizational values dimension, the organizational beliefs dimension, the organizational expectations dimension, and the organizational norms dimension), through the point of view of all employees working in the departments. And the administrative centers in (the Personnel Affairs Department, the Administrative Affairs Department, the Graduate Studies Department, the IT Information and Documentation Center, and the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Center), and to achieve this goal; The researcher used the questionnaire as a means of collecting data necessary for the practical aspect, as the number of participants reached (49) participants, and the data collected from the study was analyzed using the descriptive statistics method based on the SPSS program (Version 26). The study reached a set of results, the most important of which were the following:
- There is a deficiency in the level of providing cultural values that make the university administration an effective administration, as this deficiency was represented by the university administration’s neglect of dealing with employees’ mistakes and considering them as an opportunity to learn, and the opinions of employees are not taken into account in drawing up the vision, mission and goals of the university.
- There is a weakness in the prevailing organizational beliefs that university employees do not sufficiently believe that the university administration is interested in instilling a culture of teamwork.
- There is a weakness in the level of organizational expectations among employees that the administration will meet all their needs, including shortcomings and material and technical requirements necessary to ensure the development and continuation of efficiency at work, as well as in accounting for the efforts made by the competent and distinguished employee who maintains the university’s status and reputation.
- A decline in the level of organizational norms due to difficulties in reaching most university administration officials as easily as possible, and there is a loss in the level of frankness on the part of some officials by not allowing room for discussions and concealing mistakes and failed experiences in order for everyone to learn from them.
