Abstract

This study aimed to evaluating the awareness and attitudes of Libyan households Towards food waste, In addition to identifying the level of interest of the local media in this issue and its harmful effects on the economy, society and the environment, The a questionnaire was distributed online to a sample of 350 individuals, The study concluded that there is a high level of awareness among the Libyan family of the harmful effects of wasting edible foods on the economy, society and the food environment, in addition to the existence of anti-attitudes with a high level towards waste, and there are no efforts from various local media to define this issue and its various effects and how to reduce food waste by approaching sustainable consumption.
